This is a spread for exploring the energy between two people in a relationship or the energy between a person and something else. It can be used for lovers, friendships, colleagues, couples, or partnerships within poly relationships – anywhere where there are two people relating to each other. This could also be used for exploring the relationship with your body, with your work, with your home … anything you are “in relationship with.”

The aim here is to see you and the other person (or entity) as two separate beings, with different stories and different needs and then to understand the relationship as an entity in and of itself, and thus also something with a story of its own. This spread can help unravel codependence, weird power dynamics, and strange feelings of neediness – and it can also just be a really nice way to check in with a lover or friend.

The spread has three elements:

1. You: the querent, the person asking for the reading
2. Them – the second person (or entity)
3. Us – the relationship itself, which is just as important as the two individuals
